Last week I was so excited to attend the Intrigued Experience Conference in Maryland. I got to fulfill a flower dream of mine by working closely with Katie from Ponderosa and Thyme. Let me tell you this lady knows her stuff..we flowered and danced the afternoon away!

reverie gallery launch party

This past November Erica was had the opportunity to put together some floral fun for the Reverie Gallery Launch Party along side of the incredible Erica Powell of Ambiance Luxe Designs and Amy from Amy Champagne Events.  Reverie Gallery is a luxury wedding blog "for the savvy & stylish soon to be wed". It is a new up and coming blog that we are proud to say we were a part of their opening event and cannot wait to see what it has in store!  Amy and Erica's design vision was a literal take on the Reverie Gallery site and boy did they do a perfect job. The night of the event was perfectly orchestrated with the cozy lounge set-ups, signature cocktails,  and a room adorned in white and gold. A special thank you to Jacklyn Greenberg & Jeremy Rich of JAG Studios for sharing these beautiful images!

SSE 2014 - The behind the scenes recap

And now a look into the behind the scenes for Stacie Shea Events the past year. Yesterday's post touched on all the beautiful weddings we had on the books for 2014. Today I am going to dive into the other fun stuff that makes my heart skip a beat and keeps me wanting more in this crazy industry. In January, Erica and I were lucky enough to get the chance to work with Justin and Mary Marantz on a HUGE project with Profoto USA. We had a steller team of vendors that helped us pull together this amazing event at the Wadsworth Mansion. If you look closely in the video series you might see little Ms. C making her film and photography debut!

February brought a crazy whirlwind of events. Erica headed up two editorial shoots in one day for our team while I was away at an industry conference. Erica was able to pull off a shoot with Kristen Waterbury  in the morning at The Carousel at Lighthouse Point Park. She immediately followed the morning shoot with a quick break down and set up for the Justin and Mary Walk Through A Wedding in the afternoon.

Justin and Mary Walk Through A Wedding at Carousel Park - Kate Spade inspired was one for the books later that afternoon. All while trying to stay warm in an unheated venue in February on the Eastcoast! Yikes...

As both the shoots were taking place at the Lighthouse Point Park I was at Bliss & Bespoke in Charleston, SC. WOW what an experience! I walked away from that  meeting some of the best of the best in the industry and finally getting to meet the amazing Jacin Fitzgerald from Lovely Little Details! I can hardly wait to see her again this upcoming spring..

Bliss and Bespoke

Bliss and Bespoke

After the east coast got pounded with a MASSIVE snowstorm and I had to leave Charleston early I was a little bummed I missed out on the final events for Bliss and Bespoke. Once I got home it was back to the grind with one of my FAVORITE shoots to date at my favorite wedding venue in all of Connecticut.. Winvian Luxury Resort and Spa in Litchfield, Connecticut. With this shoot brought an amazing team of vendors like Charlotte Jenks Lewis, Splendid Stems, and Beth Chapman from The White Dress by the Shore, plus many more. Vendor Credits here.

The month of March Erica and I teamed up with Jen Lynne Photography and the UBER talented Jeanette Kleitz of True Florette to pull together a little St. Patrick's day inspiration that we knew would have a home at our favorite wedding blog.. Style Me Pretty!

We ended the month with some planning and designing for a charity near and dear to our hearts..The Canary Kids + Epidemic Answers at the Loading Dock in Stamford.  It was an amazing night of dining with Abigail Kirsch and dancing till the wee hours of the night!

April was a month that was much needed after a long winter on the eastcoast. I jetted to Maui for a destination wedding and also decided to make the most of it by holding an editorial shoot for Green Wedding Shoes at the Montage Kapalua Bay with Jessica Haley Photography and a great team of local vendors.

At the end of April I was lucky enough to have spent some time over the course of the last 9 months to host and plan an amazing vendor networking event, The Luxury Wedding Spotlight with the fabulous Erica Powell of Reverie Gallery. We brought together the best of the best in the Connecticut wedding market for a day of networking, cocktailing, and socializing with future brides! A special thanks again to all that took part in the amazing event.

As the busy season in CT starts in May of course we decided to add a few more fun projects to our calendars as well. First off we started with a film photography workshop with the great Stefanie Kapra and Wellwed Magazine and ended with another amazing Walk Through with Justin and Mary. Stefanie's workshop took place up in New Haven at the Chetstone Mansion. It was a great event and fun was had by all attendee's. I even managed to give a small little presentation on the value of planners and photographers collaborating together.

Walk Through A Wedding in May with Justin and Mary had us spending a fun filled spring day at The Lace Factory with Carrie Wilcox, Roseville Designs, Pickles and Pies, and the wonderful Erin Infantino!

To officially kick off the 2015 wedding season I was fortunate enough to head to Engage14! in Bachelor Gulch. This was my second time attending Engage and boy did it not disappoint. I was skeptical at first about heading into the Colorado mountains at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch and the long day of traveling. I knew of course that the guys and gals of Engaging Concepts pull off one amazing event so how could I take the chance and risk missing it.

The remainder of June and July we focused on family, weddings and purchasing a new home in Greenwich CT with the most amazing studio space out back. I can hardly wait for what is in store for that space in 2015!

In August Erica, Lauren our Day of Assistant, and I packed up the jeep and headed to Nantucket for one of the best projects we had all year. We helped Justin and Mary host their Walk Through A Wedding Nantucket! ACK we had so much we cannot wait to try to convince them to do it again next year...

Kicking off the fall brought us the chance to head into Brooklyn and showcase some of Erica's floral work. She has been keeping her floral skills in hiding here at Stacie Shea Events but has a LOVE for everything flower related. So to give her some practice we signed up for The Not Wedding Brooklyn. Her and I had a blast heading into the city, working with some new Brooklyn vendors, and hanging out in Brooklyn for the day.

We finally slowed down as the major part of wedding season came to end for us. Erica took on one last editorial shoot to work with a close friend of hers - Trisha Keeler Photography. They planned the perfect shoot on a beautiful fall day to welcome us to the month of November. We are so excited as we have a great wedding on the books with Trisha in the new year in Cape Cod at our secret gem of a venue, the Mill Pond Estate.

We kicked off the holidays at Stacie Shea Events with two last events. I could think of no better way to kick it off than to plan one last Walk Through A Wedding with our two favorites, Justin and Mary Marantz!

Our last and final event of the year was a Friendsmas Dinner hosted at my house to really show thanks to those that put their love forth to us this year. Every year I start planning early in the summer what to gift vendors, and how to show them how much they mean to me and my business. So this year I planned a small dinner for 14 friendors to show them how much they mean to us at Stacie Shea Events and how they make my business better. I had such a fabulous time that I am confident I will be doing this again and quite possibly exploring it a few times a year so that I can really show all my vendor friends the love!

With this I bid 2014 adeu!  I have promised myself that I will slow down in 2015 and not have as busy of a calendar. I am forever grateful to the team that I was able to work with this year, and the vendors that make my job oh so much easier. I couldn't do any of this without the help and support from my dear husband, my mother in law who drops everything to come help, and my sweet mama who jumps on a plane to be my daycare the weeks I have weddings. I need you all, and you keep me pushing forward full steam ahead. I want my clients to know that they are my passion and their weddings are what I live for, and last but not least I wish for all my readers to have the best year yet! Happy New Year!

SSE 2014: The Recap.

2014 was quite the year for Stacie Shea Events.. and for our last blog post of the season we thought we would take a ride down memory lane and swoon over the photos one last time from this year’s weddings.

First up! Stacy and Mike got Maui'd in Maui. Stacie made her destination wedding debut in Hawaii this past year and traveled with family to go and help Stacy and Mike have a flawless wedding week on the Kapalua Beaches with a rehearsal dinner at Merrimans in Kapalua and a wedding ceremony and reception at the Kapalua Plantation. We even managed to get in an editorial photo shoot with the fabulous Montage Kapalua Bay and a pretty awesome team of vendors while on the island!

Next up..Kevin and Lauren ...These two lovebirds tied the knot at a lovely church ceremony in Greenwich at St. Catherine of Sienna followed by an intimate gathering of their closest family and friends at The Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club. The weather in May is always a gamble, but these two had the perfect afternoon.

It was a drop dead gorgeous day on May 17, 2014. The weather was outstanding, the water front views at Coveleigh were to die for and Christina and Brian got married! Seriously, this couple of vibrant and energetic people were turning heads all over the place! The Coveleigh Club in Rye, NY hosted Brian and Christina's guests for a dance party that would have gone on all night long. Nobody wanted this one to end, folks.

Julia and Scott, the sweetest couple any planner could asked for, were married June 28, 2014. Surrounded by family and friends, they were married at St. Mary's Church on The Avenue. The reception was full of signature cocktails and dance moves at the Greenwich Country Club with Elan Artists keeping everyone on the dance floor right until the end.

July 19, 2014. Ginger was married to Charlie at the home of her parents under a big beautiful tree that made the perfect ceremony space. Charlie was so smitten by his glowing bride. This was so obvious to everyone who took part in their special day. The reception took place at The Wainwright House with views of the water that were breathtaking by sunset.

It's not too often we get the opportunity to completely transform an alpaca farm on a beautiful estate in a lovely town like Bridgewater, CT. When we started working with Tracy and Eric we were so jazzed at the idea of creating a beautiful wedding  on Eric's childhood farm. The day was picture perfect. The grounds looked amazing with the ceremony, taking place atop a hill with breathtaking views, a cocktail hour under a Sperry Tent, and a one of a kind reception in the barn!

Last up, the Ganot’s.  We couldn’t, and still can’t, get enough of these two. Wrapping up the wedding season with a drop dead, over the top, killer wedding. Nicole and Gabe were married at The Winvian, a Relais & Chateaux in the Litchfield Hills just a short couple of months ago. This wasn't a wedding day, folks. It was a wedding weekend. The details were uncountable and the experience was immeasurable.

merry christmas from stacie shea events!

We here at SSE are in agreement that Christmas time is hands down the BEST time of the year. The day after Thanksgiving is set aside for attic emptying and Christmas decorating. But besides the balsam scent given off by the tree and the twinkling lights on all the houses in the neighborhood, this is a time of year to reflect on everything we are thankful for. We share memories and old traditions with family and friends and are sometimes lucky enough to start new traditions with new friends. We made "making a new tradition" a priority this season. This year marked our first annual Stacie Shea Events "Friendsmas" at Stacie's new home. It was a lovely evening filled with great industry friends and TONS of laughter. It is so important to recognize how much we appreciate everything these vendor friends do for us throughout the year to make our jobs easy and fun! Thank you, thank you to all of you who came out to celebrate the season!

P.S.  A big "thank you" goes out to Jessica for taking some photos of the details on the table and throughout the house!

erin & taylor's wedding feature on carats and cake!

Good morning, everyone! Waking up to a note from one of Carats and Cake's editors telling the good news of one of our favorite (even though we don't play the favorite game) weddings being live on their blog today is a GREAT way to start the day!

Last September, Erin and Taylor became Mr. and Mrs. Searles at the Stanwich Congregational Church followed by an evening of dancing and excitement at the Riverside Yacht Club in Greenwich, CT. Charlotte Jenks Lewis nailed it again, capturing so many beautiful and unforgettable moments of E&T's nuptials. Today, a small piece of that day is over on Carats and Cake being featured in their Real Weddings section. Go check it out!! {Link Below}

You can see a FULL list of all the vendors we had the pleasure of working with below on Carats and Cake's blog!

happy thanksgiving from stacie shea events!

Here begins the most wonderful time of the year! Last nights snowfall and the aroma of a turkey roasting away in the oven really brings me a good chunk of cheer. I'm sure everyone has their own Thanksgiving traditions, stories, and memories which is what makes the holiday season so great. My grandmother, who hosts dinner every year, takes pride in her table. You know how jazzed we get here at Stacie Shea Events about a well dressed table. So before you all go your separate ways to spend the holiday with family and friends, take minute to enjoy these photos from a recent shoot at The Hickories with the beautifully talented Trisha Keeler. We wanted to really soak in the season with this one and in collaboration with The Pink Orange and Pickles and Pies, we hit the nail on the head. Our fall inspired tablescape fit beautifully with the natural setting of the farm and Erin's seasonal pies (which are to DIE for) tied what we are calling our "Thanksgiving Dessert Party" together. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

lets get maui'd!

There are two days in every wedding planning process that I live for and make my job so incredibly special. The first being the actual wedding day at that exact moment in the reception when everything has gone right and I just know as a planner I did my best and it shows with every single smile in the room. The second is the day when I get an email from the photographer and or videographer showing me how they perceived the wedding day thru their images and work. This morning was that second moment for me when Kyle at amoreFilms in AZ sent me his OVER THE TOP work from our April Maui Wedding. Last April I was blessed beyond words to work with a very special family near and dear to my heart in Hawaii. Stacy and Michael are such a beautiful couple thru and thru. They were handed a very special situation only a few days before their wedding when Stacy's father couldn't get on an airplane and attend the wedding. They held strong together and from an outsiders view Mike started out their wedding week proving how much of a rock he really is for Stacy. As you watch them in this video all I can say is that their first kiss is only the beginning of how you can see that they care for each other in such meaningful and deep ways. Congratulations again Stacy and Mike and let me tell you this video only made me want to go back to Maui again with your family!

j&m walk through a wedding: the lounsbury house

This one might be my favorite, folks. Then again, I feel like I say this every time we style a J&M Walk Through. This time around, The Lounsbury House... a semi-hidden gem, in Ridgefield, CT hosted the attendees and served as the blank canvas to our "Classic Black Tie" inspiration. We were blessed to work with a handful of vendors who, in collaboration, made this a stunning shoot. Part of the fun is having the opportunity to work with industry genius' that we have never worked with before. Miss Meghan Greenberg of Truffles and James arranged those beautiful blooms which served as the perfect finishing touch to the table design and Miss Emily Hostetler of Paper Moss sent over paper that fit the theme to a tee. The girls were styled by the sweetest of sweet, Ashley Krauss, from A Little Something White. The dresses fit those girls like a glove... and they rocked them. That cake? Obviously an Erica O'Brien creation. My heart actually flutters when I see (and smell) her cakes! The intricacy in her sugar flowers comes from a rare talent that Erica certainly possesses. We are grateful for her participation, yet again. Erin from Simply Gorgeous by Erin and Adriana from The Beauty Bar worked their magic and produced STUNNING work on our models.

A BIG... HUGE.. thanks to everyone for helping. The biggest of thanks goes to Justin and Mary, the founders and creative genius' of this mighty fine workshop. These two alone are the sole reason we keep coming back for more. You two boost our confidence by giving us the freedom to style and design Walk Through a Wedding time and time again. You're constant support and kind words mean the world to Stacie and me and we could't be happier to be a consistent part of such an amazing project.

Oh! One last thing! They have a new website for the workshop! Link is below. Do yourselves a favor and watch the video. It's perfect. They're perfect.

the not wedding at the green building: brooklyn, ny

One of the best parts of this industry is having opportunities to work with some super creative minds. Stacie Shea Events took part in what may be one of the most creative bridal shows around this past September at The Green Building in Brooklyn, NY. The Not Wedding is a fake wedding designed by all types of vendors showcasing their talents. So what's the point? The 'guests' invited are actually brides and grooms to be! This show gives them the chance to gather ideas and meet potential vendors to work with on their special day all while enjoying tasty food, yummy drinks, live music and night full of dancing. The link to the awesome video by Nathan Willis Wedding Films is below, so check that out after swooning over a few photos! {Watch the video!!}
